Vampire Bat

Vampire bats are small flying creatures that feed on fresh blood. A common misconception among the people of Suwarnabumi is that vampire bats feeds only on human blood. These bats will attack almost any warm-blooded animal that is resting. After biting its victim, it sucks the flowing blood. Vampire bats tend to live in colonies, particularly in dark caverns, hollow trees or abandoned buildings. Each colony can house up to a thousand bats.

Blindsense: A vampire bat notices and locates creatures within 20 feet. Opponents still have total concealment against the vampire bat.

Disease: Bite; Fortitude Difficulty 12 resists; filth fever—incubation period 2 days; damage 1 Dex and 1 Con. The save Difficulty is Constitution-based.

Wounding: Any living creature damaged by a vampire bat continues to bleed, taking +1 damage each round thereafter. Multiple wounds do not result in cumulative bleeding loss. The bleeding can be stopped by a Difficulty 10 Medicine check or the application of the Cure supernatural power.

Skills: Vampire bats have a +4 racial bonus on Notice checks. This bonus is lost if its blindsense is negated.
