Single-Use Supernatural Items

Charms

Charms are small ornate trinkets that hold a supernatural power until the bearer activates the charm. Activating a charm requires either a standard action or move action.

Oils

Oils are alchemical conocations that can be poured over an object to grant it supernatural properties. Applying an oil to an object takes a standard action.

Potions & Elixirs

Potions and elixirs must be ingested in order for their imbued supernatural power to take effect.

Scrolls

Adepts can activate scrolls by reading them. Anyone else must succeed on a Difficulty 20 Knowledge (supernatural) check to properly read the scroll. This requires a standard action.

List of Single-Use Supernatural Items

Auspicious Amulet

These amulets are worn around the neck and believed to protect the wearer from harm. Thalanthanist priests are often quick to point out that amulets are only worn as reminder of its teachings, not protection. The amulet functions like the creature ward effect of Ward supernatural power, but only against outsiders (vice). The warding effect lasts for up to 1 minute (10 rounds).

Disenchanting Scroll

Single use of Dispel with a pre-set power check of 25, activated by reading it.

Divine Censer

When lit, this censer has the power to dispel possessions, forcing a spirit or other dominating force to leave the person or object possessing it. The censer functions like the dispel possession effect of Banishment supernatural power. In addition, this censer can be used to counter the Dominate supernatural power. A divine censer requires a move action to light before it can be used.

Fertility Charm

Given out by shamans and witchdoctors to couples that want to increase the odds of conceiving a child. Single use of Fertility with a pre-set power check of 10.

Ginger Tea

This tea has a spicy, invigorating taste and is used as a cure for indigestion, nausea, and to ward off colds, flu, and sore throats. Single use of Cure Disease with a pre-set power check of 15, activated by drinking it.

Ghost-Hunting Scroll

Single use of Ghost Touch, activated by attaching it to the person or object. Ghost Touch lasts for 10 rounds (1 minute).

Insect-Repellent

This special ointment when applied to skin, clothing or other surfaces discourages insects from coming too close. It grants the wearer a creature ward effect of Ward supernatural power against vermin. A vermin must make a Will save (Difficulty 15) or be unable to pass within a 10-foot radius of the wearer. The warding effect lasts for up to 1 hour.

Mind-Protecting Scroll

Single use of Psychic Shield with a pre-set check of 15, activated by reading it.

Porcelain Bell

You can throw this bell as a ranged attack with a range increment of 20 feet. When it strikes a hard surface (or is struck hard), it creates a clear ringing sound that is treated as the fear effect of Heart Shaping supernatural power, but only against outsiders (vice). The effect is released when the bell hits the target.

Resilience Scroll

Single use of Invulnerability with a pre-set check of 10, activated by attaching it to the person or object. Invulnerability lasts for 10 rounds (1 minute).

Resilience Scroll, Greater

Single use of Invulnerability with a pre-set check of 20, activated by attaching it to the person or object. Invulnerability lasts for 10 rounds (1 minute).

Righteous Incense Burner

An incense burner made from iron encircled with a large Naga clutching a big ball can detect evil spirits. When used to burn incense or oil, outsiders and incorporeal undead within 300 feet causes the incense burner to glow in a faint blue light.

Scroll of Disappearance

Single use of Light Shaping (Invisibility), activated by attaching it to the person or object. The invisibility lasts for 10 rounds (1 minute).

Spirit Summoning Token

Each of the several kinds of spirit summoning tokens appears to be a miniature statuette of a creature an inch or so high. The kinds of tokens are described below. Each token is usable once, activated by tossing it on the ground and using the correct command word. The summoning takes a full round. The spirit obeys and serves its owner. It cannot speak but understands the same language as the owner.

Weak Spirit
When animated, this spirit appears a gaunt, vaguely-shaped humanoid. It is Small-sized, has Dodge Focus and Improved Speed bonus feats. The spirit will remain with its owner for up to 5 rounds.

Aggressive Spirit
When animated, a violent spirit appears that is under the command of its possessor. It is Medium-sized, and has Tough (2) as bonus feats. The spirit will remain with its owner for up to 8 rounds.

Far-Sighted Spirit
This spirit has the ability to see into the future, often taken the form of a black bird. It is Small-sized, has a fly speed of 20 feet (average), Dodge Focus, and Scrying (power) as bonus feats. The spirit will remain with its owner for up to 11 rounds.

Ghost-Hunting Spirit
These spirits are shaped vaguely like a humanoid warrior armed with ghostly arms and armour. It is Medium-sized, has a fly speed of 20 feet (average) and Ghost Touch (power) as bonus feats. The spirit will remain with its owner for up 12 rounds.

Soul-Protecting Spirit
When commanded, this powerful healing spirit appears as a haunting woman in a robe that can heal injuries. It is Medium-sized, has a fly speed of 20 feet (average) and Cure (power) as bonus feats. The spirit will remain with its owner for up to 16 rounds.

Supernatural Oil

Single use of Combat Sense with a pre-set check of 15, applied to the weapon.

Supernatural Oil, Greater

Single use of Combat Sense with a pre-set check of 25, applied to the weapon.

True Sight Scroll

Single use of True Vision with a pre-set power check of 20, activated by reading it.

Tablet, White Marble

This tablet made from greyish-white marble can exorcise evil spirits. Single use of Banishment with a pre-set power check of 10, activated by reading it. The target may attempt a Difficulty 15 Will save to resist the banishment. This tablet can be used to counter the Dominate power.

Tablet, Jade

This tablet made from green jade can exorcise extra-planar creatures. Single use of Banishment with a pre-set power check of 20, activated by reading it. The target may attempt a Difficulty 21 Will save to resist the banishment.

Tablet, Divine Spirit

Same as jade tablet, but requires the target to make a Difficulty 26 Will save to resist the banishment.

Whispering Flask

If you drink a whispering flask, you can communicate with the dead as if the Speak with Dead supernatural power had been used. A whispering flask has no effect on someone that has been dead for more than a week. The whispering flask does not affect a dead creature that has been turned into an undead creature. This flask lasts for up to 10 rounds (1 minute).
