The Naram empire extended from the Vahanavari River in the west to the east of ancient Langanese kingdom Jukang. Its capital was Parancha.

The Naram territory was part of Athikaya II's empire. There were many Laiak tribes in the region. The Karwaris, founders of the empire at Naram, intermarried with the local Laiak tribes, who were followers of Thalathanism. The Naram kings helped Kaliyatra defeat the Jukang kingdom in 4272.

In the late 4300s, Naram was annexed by Kaliyatra.
