Mount Kelakatu

Mount Kelakatu is a twin stratovolcano in the south-west half of the island of Palalangan. It has two volcano craters. The eastern crater is eroded from its last eruption (exact date is unknown, but according to the shoal-people, it happened thousands of years ago). The western crater is filled with water, commonly known as the White Lake. Heavy undergrowth and moss has now grown over the surrounding the volcanoes.

The tiyanaks hold annual festivals to the fire deities believed to inhabit the dormant volcanoes. These spirits of fire reside deep inside the bedrock, but if they exist, they rarely ever venture outside the region.
