League of beggars

The League of Beggars or simply the League, is a network made up of people outside society, mostly ghosas. The League also attracts con artists, informants, outlaws, pickpockets and thieves. More often than not, these types of shady characters are accepted into their fold, as long as they can pull their own weight and prove themselves valuable to the League. Although many members appear to be weak and vulnerable, most people will think twice before harming a league member. They seldom work alone, if at all. They take oaths and become part of small, organized gangs. A league novice answers to an "old hand", an experienced league member. Old hands will sometimes accumulate a sizeable fortune by aggressively forcing newer and weaker members to pay them for encroaching on their territory.

The League operates in most major port cities and towns across the archipelago.
